The Ninjuku Gen 2, designed by Joe Flowers, was originally introduced to us in 2023. Drawing from Joe’s extensive bushcraft experience, the concept was to create a modern puukko-style knife that transitions seamlessly into an everyday carry platform—practical, efficient, and built for real-world use.
For the Gen 2, several key upgrades have been implemented to enhance performance and usability:
- Steel Upgrade – Transitioned from N690 to AEB-L, now with cryogenic treatment for improved edge stability, toughness, and overall performance.
- Blade Geometry – A slightly thicker blade stock has been adopted to increase structural strength without compromising cutting efficiency.
- Sharpening Choil – Added for easier maintenance and more precise edge control.
- Handle Design – Enlarged scales with a subtle integrated finger guard provide improved ergonomics and a more secure grip.
- Construction – Full tang design with a machined weight-reduction pocket, balancing durability with carry comfort.
- Sheath System – Upgraded to a camo-pattern carbon fiber Kydex sheath for enhanced durability and a refined aesthetic.
The Ninjuku Gen 2 reflects a thoughtful evolution—retaining the simplicity of a traditional puukko while integrating modern materials and design refinements for today’s demands.
