The hoplites of ancient Greece were renowned for their skills with the spear. The hoplite spear point is a compact tool that can easily be affixed to a sturdy branch to create a survival spear. For thousands of years spears have served many functions including hunting or even defense against wild animals. The hoplite spear point can also be used as a compact knife if necessary and its sharp choil can be used to strike a ferrocerium rod to get your next fire going. Because of its compact size, the hoplite can easily be carried in a survival kit, as a neck knife or even attached to the sheath of your main knife. The hoplite makes a great backup cutting tool that’s both easy to carry and very capable.
