Intro
A clip-point bowie knife is pure Americana, a multipurpose tool that can handle many tasks. The inspiration for the V44X comes from the Marine Raider bowies from WW2, commonly known as a V44. Lt. Colonel Carlson procured many for the 2nd Raider Battalion. The iconic blade saw action in the jungles of the South Pacific in WW2. While carrying over many of the lines from the historic Raider bowie, I wanted to improve the ergonomics and performance to create a well-balanced tool while still paying homage to its roots. I added the wide fuller to match the aesthetics of the double fuller of the original V44, but giving it that look of a large Marine fighting knife. This knife is meant to excel at many things while being ergonomic and having aggressive styling. Whether you’re doing bushcraft, outdoor chores, or other activities, the V44X can handle it.
