The design draws inspiration from a wide range of legendary working and fighting blades, as well as the enduring image of the wilderness knife carried by the heroes of another generation. Its influences include the bolo knives issued to Filipino soldiers during World War II, along with the iconic blades associated with Rambo, Daniel Boone, Kit Carson, and Jim Bowie.
The concept was to create a knife that would feel equally at home on the hip of an Alamo defender or in the hands of someone venturing deep into the wilderness.
