Zeke Menacho is an American knife designer and outdoorsman known for creating practical, hard-use knives that emphasize reliability, ergonomics, and real-world performance. Drawing from years of outdoor experience, his designs are built to excel in demanding environments, from bushcraft and camping to survival and field use.
I first met Zeke through my good friend James Helms after attending my first Blade Show West in Portland, Oregon, in 2018. What began as a friendship soon turned into a collaboration, and Zeke has since helped us develop several of Work Tuff Gear's most recognized knife models. His knowledge, creativity, and passion for functional knife design have had a lasting influence on our product lineup, and we're proud to continue working together.
Steel:
UHB-AEB-L is AEB-L stainless steel produced by Uddeholm (formerly marketed under the UHB name, which stood for Uddeholms Bruk). Today, it's generally sold as Uddeholm AEB-L, but many people in the knife industry still refer to it as "UHB AEB-L."
What is AEB-L?
AEB-L is a fine-grained stainless steel originally developed for razor blades, which is why it takes an exceptionally keen edge. It has become one of the most respected stainless steels for custom and production knives.
